Primer: Unit 04, Lesson 5
Reading: Bass Clef F
Goal: At the end of this lesson, the student should be able to identify the Bass Clef ("F Clef"), and identify Bass F on the Grand Staff. This is the third and last "Anchor Note" which the student should memorize. They should be able to visually differentiate between Bass F and the other two Anchor Notes.
Metric: Watch your student's hands carefully, especially if they are right hand dominant. Many students will struggle at first with playing Bass F while keeping thumb on Middle C. Use the "gorilla" imagery to help. Imagine the thumb is "hooked" on the branch of the Middle C, and the fifth finger "swings down" from the branch onto Bass F.
Assigned Song: Gorilla in the Tree (5x), Sightreading (1x)
Review Songs: Alouette (1x), Middle C March (1x), A Ten Second Song (1x), Driving in the G Clef (1x), Best Friends (1x)
