Primer: Unit 04, Lesson 4
Technique: Both Staves
Goal: At the end of this lesson, the student should be able to read both staves of the Grand Staff simultaneously. They should be able to identify two-note chords that occur split between the hands. And they should be able to play two hands at the same time.
Metric: Draw lines as visual indicators in your student's music to ensure they understand notes which are stacked on top of one another are played at the same time, even when split between staves. Many students will occasionally forget to look at both staves at the same time. Keep them on track by pointing where their eyes should be looking.
