Goal: At the end of this lesson, students should be able to identify dotted half notes and their parts (open note head, stem, dot), differentiate dotted half notes notes by ear from other rhythmic values and play dotted half notes to a steady beat set by the teacher. 

Metric: Ensure your student is saying "1 -2-3" out loud while playing. This song is in 3/4 time but we have not introduced that time signature yet, so it is not listed on the page. Listen carefully to the release of each note. Ensure that your student is holding each half note and dotted half note all the way through the end of the note and not releasing early, particularly at measure 7.
