Primer: Unit 01, Lesson 4

Topology: Black Key Groups of 3

Three Black Keys, High vs Low Sounds, Crossing Over, Eyes on Music

Goal: At the end of this lesson, students should be able to identify groups of three black keys on the piano and play them using fingers 2, 3, and 4.

Metric: Continue to watch the student's eyes. You will be able to tell if the student is not looking by listening to the end of Three Little Kittens. Students who are memorizing the music will not notice the change in the musical pattern. Continue to reinforce the "dropping" motion. Students who are using a "pushing" finger motion will struggle with finger 4 in this piece.

Assigned Song: Into the Cave (5x), Three Little Kittens (5x)

Review Songs: Finger Flashcards (1x), The Pecking Hen (1x), The Pecking Rooster (1x), Two Black Ants (1x), Two Blackbirds (1x)
